CMA Awards 2009

In overall, it was fantastic. Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood - following a joking type performance method, they were making jokes out of that Kanye West incident you know whenever they could! Their performance about warning parents from raising kids like Kanye West was hilarious. "Cowboys have manners, they don't interrupt". You can watch that Kanye West funny part here. I was wishing Billy Currington to win something but it didn't happen.

RAID on NSLU2
alan | 29 September, 2009 21:15
Already wrote about it, I fell in love with my NSLU2 device. Its really cool that you can run almost everything that completes your home network on a small 133Mhz, 32MB RAM machine. Imagine how cool is it to de-underclock your NSLU2 to make it work on 266MHz speed and install a second hard drive to run it over RAID1! This small little guy is now running as my file, print, DNS, APT repository and local Web server! Here I post a newly raided NSLU2. Its fantastic.

Avoid IBM x3650!
alan | 05 July, 2009 20:05It was about six months ago that we got two IBM x3650 servers. Since the very first week after installing operating system and making them operational, we were having several raid controller instability crash problems. First I tried to upgrade aacraid kernel module to some newer versions hoping it would solve the problem; but it didn't help. Then doing more research led me to updating controller, hard drive and main board firmwares. Thank God, that helped to make the whole thing running more stable. But this was not the end of our trouble road. Last week we lost raid 5 configuration on one of the servers running six virtualized servers over XenServer. Long story short, it took a week to be able to recover data from the raid array and setting up a new server to restore it all. Guys! seriously avoid x3650 machines.
