Practical English Usage

alan | 10 October, 2007 08:26

Practical English Usage. If you are an English language student or just learn it for fun, I may highly recommend Michael Swan's the "Practical English Usage" book. That's really a great and very well organized book. Quote: "Provides explanations and examples that are based on corpus research. This work focuses on entries on 'Kinds of English', covering Standard English and dialects, correctness, spoken and written English, formality, and variation and change." You just can't ignore it. Get it from here. Despite it primarily covers British English, but also includes notes for American English speakers in needed cases too.
